The Integral 2 works with any HDMI version from 1.0 upward on the source side — it simply does not matter which HDMI revision your source uses. No special source-side resolution setting is required either: the Integral 2 is detected as a 2160p60 4:4:4-capable device and always requests the best stream your source can deliver.

Source devices

Game consoles

Any HDMI game console works as a source. If a console’s 4K60 4:4:4 output does not lock on your display, the fix is almost always on the display side (see the TV activation note below) rather than the console or the Integral 2.

UHD Blu-ray players and streaming boxes

PCs and GPUs

All PC graphics modes within the 600MHz bandwidth are supported, including ultra-high-resolution modes such as WQSXGA, QUXGA, QFHD and WQUXGA, in addition to standard 4K.

Displays and AV equipment

4K/UHD TVs

Most UHD TVs need extra settings enabled before they will accept a full 4K60 4:4:4 600MHz link — for example, many Samsung TVs require “UHD Color” enabled under Settings > HDMI, and the HDMI input labelled “PC” in the source menu, before 600MHz is accepted. Similar steps exist on most UHD TVs, and typically only specific HDMI ports on the TV are 600MHz-capable. Check your TV’s manual for its equivalent setting.

AV receivers

Route an older, HDCP 1.4-only AVR through the Integral 2’s HDCP-converted output, or use the Integral 2 to extract audio to analog or optical for an AVR that does not otherwise sit in the video path. Atmos/DD+ extraction to optical requires an AVR capable of accepting 192kHz over its optical input — only a small number of AVRs on the market support this.

Projectors

The Integral 2 is commonly used with projectors that need HDR disabled or remapped — the “Disable HDR” option lets the projector apply its own gamma curve to HDR content instead of the source’s. JVC projector owners specifically have community-built macro support; see the manual’s MACROS section.

Cable requirements

For a full 600MHz/18Gbps link (4K60 4:4:4 8-bit or 4K60 4:2:2 12-bit), use a certified high-speed 600MHz/18Gbps HDMI cable, ideally 6–12 feet long. For 4K30 or 1080p and below, almost any HDMI cable works. Because the Integral 2 also functions as an HDMI repeater, placing it in the middle of a long cable run can remove the need for a separate signal amplifier; the manual documents successful runs of 50 feet and longer. Non-powered active cables that draw power from the HDMI connector itself may fail with the default power supply — use the optional Universal Power Supply’s second port to power any such cable at the output.

Yes, if you need to matrix or split one or two 4K/HDR sources to two displays, fix an HDCP mismatch, or extract/downscale for an older display or AVR while keeping full quality on a second output.

No, if you only have a single source and a single display with no HDCP, scaling or splitting requirement — a straight HDMI cable is all you need, and adding a matrix in that case adds nothing.
