What is the difference between Splitter and Matrix mode on the Integral 2?

In Splitter mode both outputs mirror the single active input. In Matrix mode the two inputs and two outputs can be freely crossed, so each output can carry a different input.

Can the Integral 2 pass through 4K60 4:4:4 or HDR and output a lower resolution on one port at the same time?

Yes. When wired to the correct downscale output port, the Integral 2 automatically scales UHD down to FHD if that is what the connected sink needs, and it can scale FHD up to UHD on the upscale port.

What is the Bluetooth range when using GoBlue?

The Bluetooth range for the iOS/Android Total Control APP with GoBlue is over 10 metres (33 feet), with or without an active video signal.

My TV is rated for 4K60 4:4:4 but it is not working. What am I missing?

Most UHD TVs need extra settings enabled before they accept a 4K60 4:4:4 600MHz link. For example, on many Samsung TVs you must enable “UHD Color” under Settings > HDMI and set the HDMI input to “PC” in the source icon menu. Similar activation steps exist on most UHD TVs, and usually only specific HDMI ports are 600MHz-capable.

What output resolutions does the Integral 2 support?

All standard SD, HD, Full HD and UHD formats up to 4K60 4:4:4 600MHz 18Gbps, including 480i/480p, 576i/576p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p24/25/30/50/60, 1440p50/60 and 2160p24/25/30/50/60, plus VESA PC resolutions up to WQUXGA.

Does the Integral 2 need a specific HDMI version on the source?

No. The Integral 2 works with any HDMI version from 1.0 upward and is detected by the source as a 2160p60 4:4:4-capable device, so it always requests the highest-quality stream the source can provide.

Does the Integral 2 add noticeable latency?

No. The added latency is on the order of a few pixel clocks, which is not noticeable.

What long HDMI cables can I use with the Integral 2?

For 600MHz/18Gbps signals, use certified high-speed 600MHz/18Gbps cables, ideally 6 to 12 feet. For 4K30 or 1080p, most cables work. The Integral 2 also acts as an HDMI repeater, so placing it in the middle of a long cable run can remove the need for a separate amplifier; cable runs of 50 feet and longer have been used successfully.

Do I need the original Integral 2 power supply?

Yes. The Integral 2 draws more power than earlier HDfury models and requires a regulated 5V DC, 2.0A minimum supply through a mini-USB connector. Power supplies from the HDfury1, HDfury2 or GammaX (0.5A to 1A) are not sufficient and should not be used.

What is the USB port for?

To provide power from the supplied USB power unit, and for firmware upgrades when new functions and enhancements are offered.

How do I hook up the audio from the Integral 2?

The Integral 2 has both analog and digital (TOSLINK) audio output in one connector labelled “D/A” with a headphone symbol. It is a 2-in-1 connector: plug in either a 3.5mm stereo analog jack or a digital mini-TOSLINK (3.5mm mini-jack) cable and you get stereo analog sound or 5.1 Dolby/DTS digital sound. For a regular TOSLINK cable, use a 3.5mm mini-TOSLINK to TOSLINK adapter.

Does the Integral 2 support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos?

Yes. The Integral 2 passes through any HDR format up to 600MHz, including Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG, and it automatically sniffs and stores a display's Dolby Vision string so DV keeps working even with an AVR between the source and the display. Dolby Atmos and DD+ pass through the HDMI outputs, including while video is being downscaled for an older AVR. Lossless audio formats are carried over HDMI only: the optical output supports up to 5.1 and the analog output is stereo.

How do I update the firmware on the Integral 2?

Download the latest firmware and GUI package from the downloads page, install the matching Silabs USB driver for your Windows version, connect the Integral 2 to the PC over USB and flash both the FPGA and the MCU firmware from the GUI. There is no required order; MCU flashing takes under 5 seconds, FPGA flashing about 50 seconds followed by a power cycle.
