HDfury Integral 2 vs HDfury Vertex: which one do you need?

HDfury makes several HDMI matrix/scaler devices with overlapping functionality. As the distributor we sell both, so here is the honest answer to which one you actually need.

HDfury Integral 2 vs HDfury Vertex

According to HDfury’s own product listing, the HDfury Vertex is positioned as similar to the Integral 2 but adds a built-in OLED screen for on-device status and menu navigation, instead of relying purely on the Integral 2’s push buttons, slide switches and OSD overlay on the connected display.

Choose the Integral 2 if you are comfortable configuring the unit through its OSD overlay, the Windows GUI, RS232 or the mobile app, and you want the smaller, simpler control surface.

Consider the HDfury Vertex instead if you specifically want an on-unit screen for status and configuration without needing a display connected or a GUI open — check HDfury’s current Vertex listing for its exact specification before deciding, since this page does not reproduce specifications HDfury has not published for the Vertex.

Integral 2 replaces the original Integral, AVR-Key and Linker

HDfury’s own product listing states that the Integral 2 replaces the original Integral, the AVR-Key and the Linker once existing stock of those older units sells out. If you are shopping for any of those three older products, the Integral 2 is the current equivalent.

One box, many jobs

Matrix, splitter, switcher, scaler, converter and audio de-embedder in a 10 x 6 x 3 cm enclosure — the OUT side carries the two HDMI outputs (UHD/HDR on both, with 2160→1080 downscale on OUT1) plus the D/A audio jack; the IN side carries the two HDMI inputs, IR and RS232.

The short answer

If your problem is HDCP errors, splitting/matrixing a 4K/HDR signal to two displays, or scaling between an older FHD display and a newer UHD one, the Integral 2 is built specifically for that job — see the full feature list and troubleshooting guides. For the exact current specification of any other HDfury model before buying, check that model’s own official listing directly, since specifications and lineups change over time.
