UHD Blu-ray players with the Integral 2

HDCP 2.2-protected UHD Blu-ray playback is the textbook case the HDCP Doctor was built for: a protected 4K disc, an older AVR or projector somewhere in the chain, and a black screen where the movie should be. Here is how to wire it — including HDfury's own player-specific notes.

Why put an Integral 2 behind a UHD Blu-ray player?

Watch protected 4K discs through older equipment: the player's HDCP 2.2 stream is decrypted at the input and re-encrypted per output (1.4 on both ports, 2.2 on the top port), so a pre-HDCP2.2 AVR or projector stays usable.
Dolby Vision through an AVR that does not support it: let the Integral 2 sniff your TV's Dolby Vision mandatory string first (connect the BOT output directly to the TV once, then re-insert the AVR) — the correct DV signal keeps reaching the display.
Lossless audio where it belongs: full bitstreams (TrueHD, DTS-HD MA, Atmos) continue over HDMI to a capable AVR, while a second output can carry downscaled video for an older display — or use the audio extraction output for simpler setups.

Setup steps

Player into an HDMI input; the HDCP 1.x-only device (older AVR/projector) on the TOP (Downscale) output.
HDCP switch in the middle (HDCP Auto / GUI): the unit dynamically outputs whatever encryption each sink accepts.
For Dolby Vision discs with an AVR in between: first connect BOT output directly to the DV TV, power up so the DV string is sniffed and stored, then rewire with the AVR in the chain.
Scale switch on Auto Scaling if a 1080p display shares the player with a UHD display.

Samsung UBD-K8500: HDfury's pro tips note that sources like the K8500 might need the power cord removed and reconnected between EDID changes. If the player keeps offering the old format after you switch EDID tables, fully power-cycle it.
DV container reporting: Dolby Vision modes 0 and 1 travel in an 8-bit RGB container — it is normal that the Integral 2's OSD reports RGB 8b while a DV disc plays.

Do you need one for your disc player?

Yes, if a protected UHD disc will not display through your existing AVR, projector or matrix, or you want Dolby Vision to survive an AVR that does not support it.

No, if your player, AVR and display are all HDCP 2.2-capable and already play every disc — then the chain needs no doctor.
